Sutherland Global Services: Stopped PAGIBIG Loan Payment

I was with the company for about 3 years. When I decided to leave and transfer to another company, of course I need to have my new company update my loan payments; i.e. PAGIBIG and SSS.

I requested for a copy of my statement of account from both agencies last April 1. With regards to my SSS loan, it is updated up to the point when I am still with them. However, much to my surprise, my PAGIBIG loan was not being paid by the company (through salary deduction) for more than a year. The last payment posted was on April 2012.

I checked with Sutherland's HR but all they can tell was that someone requested for the loan payment to be stopped. Who in their right state of mind would stop the payment of a loan that you took out? They cannot answer me when I asked them who requested it. All they would tell me is that it was requested that's why they stopped the payment.

I have a couple of questions here:
- Shouldn't it that ONLY the person whose name the loan is under CAN stop the payment?
- Does a company have any right to stop the payment of a loan - with PAGIBIG in this case - without prior written consent of the person who took out the loan?
- Don't they even check if the request was indeed done by the person in question?

I used to think that Sutherland Global Services is a good company. But now, I THINK OTHERWISE.
